Do you feel your life is stuck in a rut and you don’t know how to move forward?
For many people this dilemma can be what brings them to coaching. How can you ‘unstick’? How can coaching help?
A good coach will ask you thought-provoking questions to help you gain awareness and understanding of where you are and where you want to get to. You will learn to identify what it is that makes you feel stuck and the steps you need to move forward. Your coach will also help you identify realistic, measurable and manageable goals.
Awareness of your situation is really important. Identify which area of your life is where you are feeling stuck: work, relationships, health, finance, self-confidence, the future? It could be more than one area. It helps if you can be as specific as possible.
Ask yourself the following questions:
Feeling overwhelmed at all these questions? How about you break things down into smaller chunks, or focus on just one area. By looking at one area you would like to change, this will seem less overwhelming and you can identify ways that you can make a difference.
Make time for thinking and planning what you want to achieve and where you want to go. One of my clients says she feels that she is on a fast-moving hamster wheel and is unable to get off. Through our sessions, she was able to see that prioritising time to plan has helped her identify what she can change and she now has a clearer plan for the future.
Just one thing, if you are concerned that the feeling of being stuck or hopelessness if a symptom of clinical depression, please speak to a qualified professional.
